Stash offers two different signup bonuses, but you can only choose one. Both offers appear on the same landing page.

Option 1: $50 Deposit Match

The bonus will then be deposited to your Smart Managed Portfolio.

Option 2: $30 Referral Bonus

  • Offer: $30 cash bonus or stock reward
  • Requirement: Sign up through a referral link, make qualifying deposit ($0.01 to $50)
  • Hold period: Bonus must remain 90 days

The bonus is then issued as cash.

Important note: When you land on Stash’s promo page, you’ll see two different offers:

  • At the very top banner, you can click for the $50 deposit match (requires a $50 deposit into a Smart Managed Portfolio).
  • In the main body of the page, you can click “Get my $30” for the referral bonus (requires a $.01+ deposit into a Personal Portfolio or banking account).

Both are valid, but they can’t be combined. To claim one, simply click the button for the offer you want and complete the signup process as directed.

Which Stash Bonus Is Better?

The $50 bonus wins if:

  • You have $50 to invest
  • You don’t mind the $3/month fee structure for three months
  • You don’t mind investing in Stash’s managed portfolio

The $30 bonus wins if:

  • You want to test Stash with minimal commitment
  • Looking for self-directed investing
  • You prefer lower required deposit
  • Prefer cash payout

Terms and Restrictions

Both bonuses share similar restrictions:

  • U.S. residents only
  • Account must remain in good standing
  • 90-day hold period required
  • Bonuses may be taxable income
  • Cannot combine with other promotions

Key difference: The $50 bonus requires Smart Managed Portfolio specifically, while referral bonus works with Personal Portfolio or Banking Account.

Bottom Line

Both bonuses offer easy money for trying Stash, but you must pick one. The $50 deposit match provides more cash but requires managed investing and higher commitment. The $30 referral bonus is more flexible with lower entry requirements. While it’s not technically a no-deposit bonus—since you do need to deposit at least $0.01—it still qualifies for our list of existing no-deposit bank bonuses.

Consider your investment goals and fee tolerance before choosing. If you’re just testing the platform, the referral bonus’s flexibility might be worth more than the extra $20 from the deposit match.
